By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Explain the first steps that must be assessed and focused on with struggling couples considering separation. 
-Explain what should after engaging in conflict couples should learn.
-Explain what should a counselor starts to set goals with a couple.
-Explain what the counselor must do, if it is revealed that one partner appears to want out of the relationship and one is still heavily invested and committed.
-Explain in the following list which ones are “Terms” of a separation.
-Explain what should parents do during high stress times of couples conflicts and separations.
-Explain where Steps 1-7 of this Couples Separation Model have been largely focused on.
-Explain the key treatment factors to focus on during periods of conflict and/or during couple separations.
-Explain what of of a separation is not clear, ff conflict between partners is not satisfactorily controlled or the purpose.
